Problem: Textbooks are expensive; even those that lack “value” cost thousands per year. Though many are striving to make them free—e.g. Flatworld Knowledge, ck12.org, & textbookrevolution.org—no web-based alternative has disrupted the print market like Wikipedia or Craiglist have done to encyclopedia or classifieds sales. Though education is a big business, we have yet to make it a “zero billion dollar business,” in the words of Fred Wilson. Though each discipline is different, the first we’ll address in this blog is Law School.
